Touchmote

Touch Windows 8 from your couch!

Point and touch

The perfect solution for your HTPC. Point the Wiimote at the screen, press down your thumb, and tap, swipe or scroll through Windows 8 new Metro interface.

No hassle

Install once and don't think about it again. Touchmote can start with Windows and connect as soon as you press any button on your Wiimote.

Customizable

Create your own configurations that will automatically load when a specified application opens. Touchmote is able to simulate a Keyboard, Mouse, Multi-Touch as well as XBox 360 controllers.

Thank You

Touchmote would not have been possible without the existence of the following Open Source projects

Prerequisites

NOTICE New Wiimotes (S/N ending with Z-C4, Z-C6 or C-C4) will not work with Microsoft Bluetooth Stack. We recommend you to get a Wiimote manufactured before November 2011. To get the newer Wiimotes to work you have to use the Mayflash DolphinBar or similar, alternatively you might try this guide to install the Toshiba Bluetooth Stack.

How to set up

    1. Download the installer, run it and launch Touchmote.
    2. Click "Pair Wiimote" to pair one or more Wiimotes to your computer. Press the buttons 1 and 2 simultaneously on the Wiimote to connect it to the computer. If you want the Wiimote to remember the connection, use the SYNC button in the battery compartment instead.
    3. You will see a list of all connected Wiimotes, click Done if you feel ready.
    4. Now, turn on the Sensor Bar and point the Wiimote at the sensor bar. If you can see a cursor moving, you're done! Use the A button on your Wiimote to simulate a touch.
  • How to use

Use the HOME button on the Wiimote to go directly to Windows 8 Metro home screen.

Point the Wiimote at the sensor bar, hold down the A button on the Wiimote and swipe the cursor across the screen to scroll.

Hold the B button to add a second touch point and use A to zoom or rotate

Adjust the computer volume with the minus and plus buttons

Hold the Home button for 5 seconds to open the Layout Chooser and quickly switch between your keymaps.

Open the Charms bar with 1, switch between apps with 2 or use the built in edge guestures in Windows 8

You can add your own layout configurations by editing in the keymap editor under "Settings"->"Configure Controller"

METRO SCALER

Is Modern UI too small to navigate from the couch?

Download the tool above to increase the size of the UI in Windows. It tricks Windows into thinking that your screen is small, so it treats it as a high-DPI screen. For a 40 inch HDTV, a setting at 10 inches is good.
